Hot Air Balloon
About Hot Air Balloon
Joseph-Michel and Jacques-Etienne Montgolfier, sons of a paper maker, launched an unmanned balloon at Annonay in June 1783. In September a sheep, a duck and a rooster flew at Versailles before Louis XVI. On 21 November 1783 Pilatre de Rozier and the Marquis dArlandes made the first free human flight over Paris. The brothers first thought a special smoke provided the lift. It was simply heated air.
