About Pacemaker
Greatbatch accidentally installed the wrong resistor, creating a rhythmic pulse. The first implant was in a dog, then in a human in 1960. Arne Larsson received the first fully implanted pacemaker and lived 43 more years. Modern pacemakers are the size of a coin.
