About Printing Press
Movable type revolutionized information distribution. Gutenberg borrowed money from Johann Fust and lost his workshop when he could not repay. The Gutenberg Bible was the first major printed book, about 180 copies. Before the press, a single book took months to copy by hand. By 1500, over 20 million volumes had been printed in Europe.
